There were lots of spectators for the kick-off of Sagebrush's inaugural gardening season, as they in the courtyard soaking up the sun and chatting. But a handful of hardy souls were keen to dig in the dirt and spark life that begins when a seed meets soil, water, and sunshine.

People Jumped Right In

“People just jumped right in,” says Recreation Therapist Haley Wilde. “They grabbed some gardening tools and seeds, and started planting. It was really awesome to see everyone so happy.”

Next Month, an Herb Garden

So far three raised beds have been planted with tomatoes, bell peppers, peas, cucumber, onions, Swiss Chard, eggplant, carrots, and watermelon. Next month they’ll start a herb garden in different planters.
